The division of landscape Installation, we specialize in beautifying homes, offices both internal and external, open spaces for public e.g. road sides, parks and shopping complexes, making them accessible, livable and a healthy environment. We specialize in Landscape architectural designs, Water features, irrigation Systems, and rehabilitation of damaged land, plant propagation, nursery construction and environmental education implementation.

INDOOR PLANSCAPING

We have just introduced a Plantscaping division; this division is solely responsible for interior plantscaping décor, this includes using indigenous clay ports to design and decorate events, conferences, Gala Diner events, Office environment and indoor outdoor commercial, corporate and social events.

VICO LANDSCAPES (PTY) LTD the division of plant production, we propagate, produce, grow and sell plants to companies and public sector. This division is specifically aimed at making the company more competitive in the market in terms of pricing. This division focuses on informing the community about indigenous and exotic or alien vegetation. Also increasing the awareness of the extinct, endangered and medicinal plants and vegetation amongst communities.

BUSINESS HISTORY

VICO LANDSCAPES (PTY) LTD is a 100% black youth owned entity, this company has converted from Asizame Landscaping cc to VICO LANDSCAPES (PTY) LTD. VICO formerly known as Asizame boasts of it’s wealth of expertise and experience dating back over 10 years with strategic alliances including Real Landscapes, Afrocon Construction, More land Properties now known as Hullet Developments.

Since there has been a large increase in infrastructure developments in the country the landscape services have been in a great demand. Also the initiative by the Government in initiating environmental inhabitant awareness and improvement has also increased the demand in Landscape, environmental and horticultural services. This has motivated and equipped the team to learn, love and be passionate about the landscaping business.

By implementing and putting sound management systems in place, delegating of tasks and ensuring that staff is aware of their respective job descriptions. Production of quality services and keeping clients satisfied at all costs. The experience gained by successfully executing projects such as Sun Coast, Sibaya Casino, Ushaka Marine World, Malandela drive INK Projects and More land JV Effingham Development has proven to put the company on the business and industry map.

On the plantscaping division, we have done work for dti National in an Annual Small Business Summit, contracted by Ikhono Communications at the Royal Show Grounds Successfully designed a function for the South African Heritage Day, held at Tongaat sports field, not very far from the Majesty King Zulu monument, where the who’s who of South Africa were all gathered to celebrate this day, subcontracted by Marry Anne’s Kitchen. We also did a function with Ikhono for ABASA at the ICC recently. Lastly we did an outstanding job at the DED offices in Port Shepstone when DED was Launching their Port Shepstone offices.

Challenges experienced
Being a young black entrepreneur in an Industry that is dominated by white owned businesses, where the opportunity disbursement is influenced by relations between senior company member and relationships between companies. The lack of financial support and backing is one of the major downfalls to the black businesses.

Solutions
Constant aggressiveness in quality project execution and management has put the company in a favorable position amongst the industry. Growing relationships from strength to strength with major stake holders in the industry, through common and good business practice. The change of entity status and name as well as the co-operate identity has proven to make the company even more respected and recognised in the industry. Our company has formed an alliance with one of Durban’s bridging finance institution; this has assisted us to enable execution of projects on time as finance is always available when required.
