VICO LANDSCAPES (PTY) LTD 2007

Overview

In 2007 Asizame Landscaping cc was privileged to have been a winner in 2006 Umyezana, this Award enabled us to liaising and work closely with the Department of Economic Development office of the MEC Dr. Zweli Mkhize in accessing opportunities, networking with people in strategic positions and creating relations with other entrepreneurs.

Umyezana Award earned us respect and opened more doors in the private sector and other provinces, such as in Eastern Cape Government. Our strong character and entrepreneurial spirit flourished. In our strategic planning exercises with staff and through advice from business people serving as mentors, our internal resolution for 2007 was to convert to a (pty) ltd from a CC and change our name to a name that would be understood abroad without any difficulties.

The company secured contracts that increased our turnover also strengthening our skills and recognition in the industry. We received calls of acknowledgement from institutions such as Mangosuthu Technikons now known as Mangosuthu University of Technology; this was due to the internship training granted to the students in the agricultural department.

Successes

Through commitment to the economic and community development of our community and province, we were voted Best Black Owned and Managed Company in KZN by the Department of Economic Development KZN, office of the MEC Dr. Zweli Mkhize.

We Landscaped the Moreland Effingham JV Development sales office giving us a great chance of forming part of the main Landscaping within the development. We Landscaped and paved the Mega City Food Court section in Umlazi Township, an initiative to enhance the Center eating area making it more accessible for people. We landscaped and trained commuters in the village of Cabamdeni Eastern Cape in a Center called Cabamdeni Art and Craft Center.
