ASIZAME LANDSCAPES (PTY) LTD 2006

Overview

2006 was a year of Achievements, we were recognised for our unique sophisticated and innovative designs that saw us acquiring more domestic projects, these were run concurrently with the 18 months “ 1,5 million rands” contract.

This again was a year that revealed to us just how challenging it is to be a young, previously disadvantaged entrepreneur, operating within a predominantly-previously advantaged managed businesses sector.

When we started doing projects independently, that was when we started feeling the pressure in terms of pricing for jobs based on our plant material purchases, independently bought in from Nurseries through our name, portfolio and credentials.

The abovementioned experience led us into wanting to learn more about the industry and initiating more partnership with the previously advantaged managed entities to acquire more information and understand more about the industry.

Successes

We were voted Best SMME KZN by the Department of Economic Development KZN, office of the MEC Dr. Zweli Mkhize.

We successfully completed 4 major contracts namely; Sibaya Lodge, Sun Coast Hotel and Pearls Hotel - jointly with Real Landscapes our Empowerment partner. There after executed Malandela Road Landscaping under Inanda, Ntuzuma and KwaMashu Presidential reform Project as an urban renewal initiative (INK Project). Our involvement in an Agricultural Food programme project where we constructed, Nurseries and supplied vegetable seedlings for schools throughout KZN.
